Chris DiTavi, LDO, NCLC

Chris DiTavi has been the Office Manager and a Licensed Optician at Vision North since February 2012. After starting his career in horticulture, Chris followed in the footsteps of his father and brother by entering the optical field in 1994. He earned his degree in Ophthalmic Dispensing from Worcester Technical Institute, where he served on the student advisory board and received the Silor Laboratory Award for top eyewear design and fabrication. He graduated in 1996 in the top 10% of his class with honors.

Chris has been a leader in the optical community, serving on the Board of Directors for the New England Contact Lens Society and holding the office of President for two consecutive terms from 2004 to 2008. Before joining Vision North, he spent 16 years as an optician and contact lens specialist in Cambridge. Chris enjoys being back in the neighborhood of Boston’s North End, a place where he spent much of his childhood.

Outside of the office, Chris is an avid cook and a talented landscape photographer. A dedicated football fan, he also spent many years on the sidelines coaching the high school football team in his hometown of Maynard, where he currently resides with his wife.
